Advent Workshop

In December, the Advent Workshop returns to First Parish. Held after church during the first or second week of Advent, this intergenerational event  generally includes holiday refreshments and the opportunity to think about and prepare for the coming of the Christ child through hands-on activity tables.

Past tables have included writing letters to soldiers, shut-ins, and Nursing Home Residents, making a family Yule Log, Wreaths, decorating cookies, creating Chrismons for the church’s Christmas tree, making ornaments, and many more!

Vacation Church Camp (VCC)

It wouldn’t be summer without Vacation Church Camp (VCC), because school is out for the summer and it’s time for some summer fun! Held in July, this program draws in kids from neighboring communities for a week of faith-filled fun. Each morning, kids rotate through different stations, learning about a Bible story in engaging and creative ways. This year our theme was LAVA LAVA LUAU. We look forward to seeing you all in-person for our Rocky Railway in the summer of 2022!

Prepared to Serve Annual UCC Conference

Prepared to serve is the United Church of Christ NH Conference’s premiere annual event for Lay Leaders and Clergy alike.  PREPARED TO SERVE is a fantastic and fun learning event for everyone in our church. With a plethora of innovative workshops, and a multitude of exhibits, inspirational worship, great food and fellowship, this continually promises to be a very special time for those who gather year after year.

Prepared to Serve takes place at Pembroke Academy, Pembroke, NH and proceeds support the life and ministry of the New Hampshire Conference, United Church of Christ. Donations from the Conference help to underwrite events like Prepared to Serve, programs such as the Outdoor Ministry program at Horton Center, and assist in providing support to the many churches and pastors of the New Hampshire Conference through the ministry of the NH Conference Staff.

Easter Morning Sunrise Service

The popular Easter morning sunrise service is organized by either the middle and high school students or the confirmation class. Held nearby the church at Broadview Farm, the congregation gathers around a bonfire and greets the Easter sun with the sound of worship. Afterward, a breakfast buffet is held at First Parish, followed by a traditional Easter morning worship service in the sanctuary.
